Our house mates made this yummy pie. Its called Belish and from Tataria (Tatarstan).
This one was made with par-boiled rice, raisins and dried apricots. The pie steamed the rice perfectly. Can also make a meat pie with potato and onion.
Russia. Its pie crust they used 150 ml milk, 500g plain flour, 1 egg, half a pound of butter and sugar. bake at 185c 1 hour. Long grain/basmati rice. We are going to try one to make one soon, I tell you how it comes out.
